Maitree was born on May 3, 2022 (Bengali 19th Baishakh 1429) on the auspicious day of Akshaya Tritiya. We are a nascent but vibrant community, founded on the core principles of philanthropic pursuit, transparency, inclusivity and friendliness. So, we have just begun and with the blessings of Maa Durga, we will strive with purpose and evolve – Together. Maitree treasures the cultural values, traditions, literature and cuisine of our beloved motherland. We aim to uphold these aspects of our identity and proudly pass on the same to generations to come. We come from the land of Sri Ramakrishna Paramahamsa, Swami Vivekananda, Tagore, Kazi Nazrul, Mother Teresa and many other illustrious citizens. Their teachings and philosophies will always guide us to lead to a greater good and create a harmonious society. We, at Maitree, therefore, welcome all who share these values and traditions to be part of our community.
The mission statement of the organization is to uphold the cultural and philanthropic heritage of the motherland that we left behind and promote and sustain friendship and human relations in the adopted motherland. We aim to deliver Maitree’s mission by taking everyone together. While we evolve, we shall ever look for friends in this adopted land of ours, to help us all elevate ourselves and help the ones who are not fortunate.
(1) To perform religious, social and cultural activities.
(2) To perform philanthropic activities as and when required.
(3) To promote and sustain friendship and human relations in the society.
In carrying out these objectives, the Association shall organize various events and programs, including coordination and supporting other non-profit organizations within the community with similar aims and objectives.
We are delighted to share some wonderful news with you. Maitree Philanthropic Committee is collaborating with Bharat Sevashram Sangha to sponsor the education of four tribal girls near the Ghatsila BSS Tribal Welfare Center and two underprivileged nursing students (one male and one female) from rural West Bengal.
To continue advancing these important philanthropic initiatives, we need the support of all our members and patrons. We have some payments due by mid-August, and we kindly request that you contribute to the best of your ability every month to the Maitree Philanthropic account.
Your generosity will make a significant difference in the lives of these young individuals, helping them achieve their dreams and build a better future.
We extend our sincere thanks to all members for their continued support and contributions.
